The series will take competitors across some of the area’s most scenic locations, including North Side & Sewerby, Wilsthorpe, Danes Dyke, and the South Side Promenade, showcasing the beauty of Bridlington and its surroundings while providing varied and challenging routes.

How is this scored? ▾

Each race produces a small total of points for every runner. The whole series adds your best race totals together. Lower totals are better — first place has the fewest points.

Per race

Each finisher gets two ranks combined into one race total:

Age-grade points — runners are ranked by their age-grade percentage (your finish time vs the world-record time for your age and sex). Best age-grade gets 1 point, second best 2, and so on.
Prediction points — runners are also ranked by how close their actual finish time was to the time they predicted at entry. Closest gets 1 point, next closest 2, and so on. Anyone who didn't submit a prediction (including runners added on race day) is scored as the worst real predictor's rank + 1 — predicting your time is part of the series.
Your race total is the sum of those two ranks. Ties share a position (1, 2, 2, 4 — standard competition ranking).

DNF, DNS, and entries without a date of birth or sex on file are excluded from ranking entirely.

Only your best 3 of 4 race totals are counted — your worst race is dropped. Bold numbers in the table are the ones counting toward your total; faded numbers are dropped.
You need to complete at least 3 races to qualify for a final series position. Qualified runners are marked with a green ✓ Qualified badge; runners shown in grey haven't qualified yet.
Ties on the series total are broken by races completed (more is better), then alphabetically.

Missed races

To stop runners with a single great race outranking runners who turn up consistently, any race you miss is scored as the worst real finisher's total for that race, plus one (shown in the table as n*). Because that penalty is by design worse than every real score, it's always the first one dropped from your best-3 total — so once you've completed 3 real races, missing one no longer hurts you.
